• For a stainless-steel sink, you can simply use normal dish soap along with a sponge or a soft brush. Scrub carefully so that there is no abrasion or loss of lustre.
• For a silicon grid, you can do the same thing. You could also wash it in your dishwasher. Since silicon grids are softer and more flexible, they are dishwasher-friendly.

Buy the right grid for your sink to get the most out of it. There are different aspects that you have to keep in mind, including:

• Material: Usually, sink grids are available in stainless steel or silicone. The two materials are different in terms of maintenance and even in the benefits that they provide. For example, a silicone grid is easier to clean, but it sits flush against the sink surface, which makes it less hygienic than stainless steel ones. The prices of these two materials can also vary significantly. If you are able to clean the grid regularly, silicone can be a good choice as it offers decent soundproofing. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a more expensive grid with an aesthetic appearance, stainless steel can be better.
• Size: Make sure to get a grid that fits your sink. Be especially careful about not getting one that is too big. A grid smaller than your sink can still be used, but not if it is bigger.

While the primary use of the grid is in the sink, it can serve a number of purposes even outside of it. For example,

• If you have a stainless-steel grid, you can use it as a makeshift drying rack by placing it next to the sink instead of inside it. You can rest your dishes on the rack and drain them, channeling all the water into the sink.
• You can also use the grid to rest your hot pots and pans (if it is made of stainless steel). Countertop materials like laminate and Quartz can get damaged by hot pots and pans. You can use your grid as a stand to avoid getting burn marks on the countertop.
• On top of being a drying rack for dishes, the grid can also be a drying rack for food items. Certain foods, especially vegetables like okra, need to be dried out before cooking. Once you wash the veggies, you can lay a towel on the countertop with the grid on top, and leave them to dry.

Don’t put too much weight on the grid
