What chemicals are not safe to use on stainless steel?

Household bleach can stain or corrode stainless steel and should not be used. If you ever pour bleach in the sink rinse it off with water immediately. Use only household cleaning chemicals that are listed as safe for stainless steel. Many household cleaning agents contain chlorine or bleach and should not be used. Industrial chemicals and solvents can also damage stainless steel. If any such chemicals get in the sink, rinse it off with water right away. Stainless steel is an alloy of iron, chromium and nickel. The chromium forms a protective layer of chromium oxide on the surface. Any harsh chemicals that damage this protective layer will damage the finish of your sink. This is something not unique to Ruvati sinks. This is true of stainless steel sinks from any brand.
